ANSWER:
No, ostriches in danger merely drop to the ground. Their heads and necks blend in with the sand, making them look as if they've buried them.

This is fiction.the male ortrich dig a hole a big and wide to hide their egggs from predactor. All birds turn their eggs several times a day during the incubation period from distance it appears as though the bird has his/her head in the sand.

The answer is no,they don't.It is a myt exists theories about:the color of their head and the neck is the same;they ingest sand and pebbles.
